CLIP Accreditation FAQS
What is the Corporate Learning Improvement Process (CLIP)?
The Corporate Learning Improvement Process (CLIP) is a quality assessment scheme for corporate learning organisations that is based on a guided self-assessment and in-depth peer feedback. It is the leading international system of quality improvement and accreditation for corporate learning functions. The CLIP framework takes a broad view of corporate learning and development, covering the professionalism applied in all learning and development processes, their grounding in business and organisational reality, and their link to the company's strategic and transformation agenda. The benefits of CLIP include internal and external recognition, strategic development, and membership in a vibrant community of learning and talent development leaders.
What are the benefits of obtaining CLIP accreditation?
Please visit our CLIP Benefits page.
How does CLIP accreditation differ from Learning for Today and Tomorrow (LIFT) certification?
CLIP and LIFT are both frameworks designed for corporate learning functions, but they serve different purposes. CLIP focuses on the quality and continuous improvement of mature corporate learning departments, offering a rigorous peer-reviewed accreditation that signifies excellence in aligning learning with business strategy. In contrast, LIFT emphasises the measurement of learning outcomes and their impact on individual and organisational performance, providing a framework for transformation and strategic alignment rather than formal accreditation. While CLIP is ideal for established functions seeking benchmarking and recognition, LIFT is more suited for organisations looking to enhance the impact and effectiveness of their learning initiatives.
Can organisations from any industry apply for CLIP?
Yes, as long as the eligibility requirements are met.
How can my company start the CLIP process?
Begin with the dedicated page for CLIP on the EFMD website, where you will find detailed information and all relevant documents. The Process Manuals and Standards & Criteria documents will help answer many of your questions. (See a flowchart of the process below.) You may use the ‘Contact’ forms on our website to express your interest and get in touch with our accreditation team.

- The Learning Function is able to go through the process in English.
