
School of Management at NPU
Northwestern Polytechnical University (NPU) is one of the first batch of universities to enter into the 211 Project and the 985 Project in China, as well as one of the National “Double First-Class” Universities (Classification A).
The School of Management in Northwestern Polytechnical University (NPU) was founded in 1990 with the integration of Department of Management and Equipment Training Center. With nearly 30 years of development in education and research, it became an influential management school in China. The mission of the School of Management is to deliver in global context innovative, management education, and applied research connected to management science and business administration.
The School is comprised of two main majors: Management Science and Engineering, and Business Administration. The major of Management Science and Engineering includes research interests in Industrial Engineering, Information Management and Information Systems, Operations Research, Project Management. Major of Business Administration has research interests in Marketing, Accounting and Finance, Operations Management, Strategy Management, Organizational Behavior and Human Resource Management. The School is delivering a broad range of study programs for undergraduate, graduate, doctorate/PhD students, and professional development. As a research-focused school, the school currently has 85 academic staff, 10 research groups, and 4 research institutes. 20% of staff holds overseas Ph.D. degree, and more than 80% of staff has overseas studying or research experience for more than one year. We have over 100 research projects that are sponsored by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, National Social Science Foundation of China, the National Aviation Foundation, and the Project 863. The School has become one of the most important education and research centers for management study in China.
The School of Management continues to grow rapidly, particularly in the development of international collaboration. As a founding member of the Alliance of Chinese & European Business Schools (ACE) and a member of European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD) and EFMD Global Network, the School has built tied relationship with Institut Mines-Télécom Business School (France) and ESSCA Ecole de Management (France) for Bachelor degree (3+2) program, Double Master degree (1+1) program and short-term exchange program. We have built Double Master degree program with Rotterdam School of Management (Netherlands) which is the top business school in Europe; and we have exchange agreement with Seoul National University of Korea. Besides, the school has cooperated with Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM, Spain), Institut Mines-Télécom Business School (France), International Labor Organization (UN) and University of Ljubljana (Slovenia) and so on for the winter or summer school. Currently, the School of Management have been communicating with Linköping University (Sweden), La Trobe University (Australia) and Polytechnic University of Milan (Italy) to build students’ mobility program. At the same time, we are negotiating with Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM, Spain) for IMIM International Master Program starting from 2020.
We are looking forward to developing more international collaborations in terms of double degree programs, student and professor exchange program, as well as winter or summer school programs.
