Catalyst for excellence in management education

EFMD partners with business schools, universities and other organisations to promote excellence in management education in Europe and worldwide in order to support smart, sustainable and inclusive growth.

Expertise of EFMD

The European Commission has entrusted EFMD, as a partner of many large consultancy companies, with requests for services including studies and consultancy services, evaluation and impact assessment of its work.

Assignments and activities

Pilot Quality Review system of current Erasmus Mundus Master courses (2013)

EFMD worked in close partnership with Ecorys UK to assist Executive Agency for Education and Culture of DG Education and Culture of the European Commission with the development of a pilot Quality Review system of current Erasmus Mundus Master courses.

The educational activities of the Knowledge and Innovation Communities of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology

Ecorys UK and EFMD carried out a study on the educational activities of the Knowledge and Innovation Communities (KICs) of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT). The EIT is promoting and integrating higher education, research and innovation to reinforce the innovation capacity of the EU Member States and the EU. The principal activities are undertaken autonomously by the designated KICs.

CEDEFOP
Study on the role of quality Assurance in Building Trust between VET and HE (2009)

In 2009, EFMD carried out a study for CEDEFOP, the European Centre for the Development of Vocational Training on the role of quality assurance in building trust between Vocational Education and Training (VET) and higher education HE.

Roundtables

In 2012, EFMD organised a high-level debate with the European Commission on the importance and the value of management research and management education; the notion of management covering the whole spectrum from operational capabilities to leadership competencies and entrepreneurship.

At the European Business Summit in April 2012, EFMD organised a roundtable on this subject with the theme “Management Skills for Growth” in line with the overall Summit theme “Skills for Growth”. This exclusive event took place on 26 April 2012. It was attended by 30 participants, including senior policy makers and leaders from business schools and businesses.
