Online Course Certification System (EOCCS) is an international online course certification system designed to evaluate the quality of online business and/or management-related courses that either stand-alone or constitute part of a certificate or programme.
EOCCS aims to evaluate the quality of exemplary online business and/or management courses. Firmly embedded in the general philosophy of EFMD accreditations - internationalisation, practical relevance and quality improvement - EOCCS is open to any institution, including higher education, corporate institutions and public agencies.
Following an in depth review EOCCS provides high quality benchmarks in the market for the use of digital technology in teaching and learning. EOCCS is designed to evaluate online courses in the context of rapidly evolving technologies within the framework of:
- Institutional Context
- Course Composition
- Course Delivery and Operations
- Quality Assurance Processes
Benefits of EOCCS
EOCCS provides an international quality benchmark in diverse education landscapes whereby digital technology is applied to teaching and learning. In addition to this, institutions applying for EOCCS can expect the following benefits:
- In-depth review and feedback within 3 months
- Recognition of online learning as effective and flexible learning
- International benchmarking
- Quality assurance
The EOCCS process begins with an enquiry, followed by the applying institution completing the application form (consisting of a Datasheet and Course Self-Assessment Report). The applicant course will then be subject to assessment by an expert Review Panel. Successful applications will be awarded with a renewable Certification for 3 years.
EOCCS Pioneer Institutions
EOCCS has just concluded the pilot stage with eighteen (18) certified courses from eight (8) renowned institutions representing both the corporate and business school world. EOCCS will be offering 'regular certification' in November 2016.
